Pearls of the Night

On Dancing with the Stars this week (Oct. 20) Julianne Hough and her partner performed a high spirited dance, the jitterbug. Julianne was outfitted as an adorable aproned housewife complete with a double strand of pearls around her throat and multiple strands of pearls on her wrists and finished off by lovely pearl stud earrings.

Will you be the next to follow this latest fashion trend? It seems these lovely gems are a regular feature of the show. On the Sept. 29 episode host Samantha Harris was wearing an amazingly beautiful Tahition Pearl and multi color sapphire cuff bracelet valued over $56k. Choosing the Right Pearls for You. Following the latest jewelry fashion trend, people are returning to one of the oldest precious gems... the ever stylish, classy PEARL.

Pearls are showing up everywhere from brides walking down the aisle, to graduations....to everyday occasions. The much sought after actress Angelina Jolie has been photographed wearing pearls to movie premiers and quiet days picking up her kids from school. She creates a striking effect, as do most women, wearing simply a pair of pearl studs and a string of lustrous, classy pearls.

Choosing the right pearl for you to get the Angelina effect of classic beauty involves factors such as your age, your skin tone, and the use of the pearls. Pinkish pearls compliment fair skin tones with bluish undertones. White, ivory and golden pearls compliment darker skin with yellow undertones. White pearls with a bright silver overtone look good on a "winter" as do many of the grey, silver, and pewter colored Tahition pearls. If you are younger, shorter length necklaces should be opted for as they emphasize your youthful face.

One of the newer trends for this season, however, is being worn by Sarah Jessica Parker and is seen as a statement necklace, which is a very long pearl necklace worn with a sweater or t-shirt. More mature women might prefer a longer necklace to accentuate their classiness and make a statement. The size of the pearls may also be a consideration.....smaller sized pearls are great for lengthier necklaces while larger pearls look fabulous in shorter lengths. Younger girls may look great in a short strand of smaller size pearls, but a more mature figure will look better in pearls that are at least 7mm in diameter.

There is such a variety in this years pearl trends! Some of the trendy colors this season are chocolate brown pearls, khaki and pink....look for them. You will love how this future investment will make you feel like you are dancing with the pearls...I mean....stars.
