What is black hills gold by Manuel Roberts

Black Hills Gold jewelry is a tri color gold creation. Myth has it that pink and green gold is mined in South Dakota but this is not true. The tri color gold does come from South Dakota but that is because it is the state jewelry. The tri color gold can not be made anywhere else in the United States. This is a three color jewelry with a grapevine design. The man that invented this design did so because of the grapevines from his home country.
The yellow 24kt gold is the natural color, the red or pink gold is created by mixing yellow 24kt gold and copper, and green gold is created by mixing yellow 24kt gold and sterling silver. These alloys are created for the production of the tri color jewelry. Landstrom's is one of the oldest companies in the business that makes tri color gold.

The jewelry is made of yellow gold or sterling silver frames. The red and green leaves are made of 12kt gold mixed with copper or silver. Then these pieces are attached to the frame.

The gold jewelry that has been made from the black hills of South Dakota by Landstrom's has been know to endure not just one lifetime but it has been known to have been handed down from generation to generation as heirlooms. The jewelry is all hand made and hand engraved so no two pieces are the same. The way the black hills gold is transformed into jewelry will be in another article later this month.
